Resume Response..

Posted 09/18/2008 - 18:39 by dschmitt

It was an interesting read, but I wasnt suprised by anything I read, nor did I learn much. I learned how to write resumes in highschool, and it always seemed to me common sense not to write an entire book. I've seen peoples resumes at the Industrial Roundtable, all colorful with pictures on them, paragraph descriptions of each job, multiple pages, and I couldnt help but laugh. My resume is bland, and I list my work experience, and a little information about what I did. It seems to work well as I've had a few internships so far.

Rhetorical Choices

To start off, I definitely was unprepared to give a presentation with no aid such as a note card or piece of paper. Everything I said was what popped into my head at the moment and seemed to be the right time to say it. I tried to give a good explanation of my idea by being simple. I felt there was no need to get indepth, just tell the basic idea and that would be enough. I wanted to explain more about the city of Amsterdam, being a beautiful dutch city that is filled with thousands of similar looking bicycles.

Great idea, good pitch.

I voted for people according to how well their idea was pitched and how feasible the idea was. The idea has to be good, period. The idea is the most important, and how well the idea is delivered is second. There were a few people that delivered their ideas effectively, but their ideas were unreasonable and unfeasible. I decided to vote for the person who delivered both to me effectively, a good pitch with a good idea. I voted for Jason because his idea was definitely feasible and he delivered his idea effectively.
