What is the role of writing and persuasion for an entrepreneur? How does that relate to what you hope to get from the course?

A lot of people have very good business ideas, but to put those business ideas on paper in the form of a business plan is probably the most difficult thing to do. Without a clear and concise business plan, it is almost impossible to proceed with a business ideas. Very often, business ideas have to be presented either orally or in writing. Hence it is extremely important for an entrepreneur to be able to pen down in a systematic way ideas that they might have. An entrepreneur has to deal with and correspondence with customers, employees and various other groups of people. A good piece of communication is said to be a silent salesman for the company. It is therefore important to be able to persuade and clearly convey the message to the audience.

I am aiming at improving my writing skills by enrolling in the ENGL 420 E class. Here, I am hoping to learn about effective communication which is going to be essential for me to run a successful business in the future. I am also looking forward to working with a team and thus improving my team work skills.  This class would also help me to understand how to write a business plan that covers important ideas while being brief and concise. It is also important to learn about the correct way to deal with employees within an organization. Hence I am aiming at learning a whole lot about the importance of communication and business writing for an entrepreneur through this class.
