3 rules business plans need to follow
The first rule that caught my attention when reading was Rule 8: Visualize. All of the business plans we looked at had graphs, charts and pictures that gave great detail of information about the company. The saying "pictures speak a thousand words" really does make sense. Visualizations are more likely to be understood by the reader as well. The business plans we looked at were ethical in the sense that their visualizations didn't trick the reader to believe false information.
Business Plans For Dummies
The book I recommend is: Business Plans for Dummies (Paperback) by Paul Tiffany (Author), Steven D. Peterson PhD (Author). I have had success with other "For Dummies" books in the past. I have read Networking for Dummies and it has really helped me in my technology major. Business Plans for Dummies is a crash course for business plans. It gives you the basic knowledge in order to write a professional business plan. It has won many awards. This book is suitable for any group. Just look it up. You are going to like what you see.
ethics and visual rhetorics
Some of the things you should consider when making visual graphs and charts is the selection and emphasis on the graph. It can be non-ethical to discard some information that pertains to the graph in order to make one part of the graph have more emphasis on the other. Doing this may trick the person reading the graph to believe something that is not true.
the 5 resume winners
I chose Nikki Stcks, Ginger Soda, Student Halfway, Dell Hymes, and Randy Mindset for several reasons. I feel their resumes were laid out in a professional way. The structures were all similar to a typical resume that we talked about in class. The biggest aspect that stood out to me was the format of the resumes. The ones that had the everyday resume look were easier to read and I didn't have to go looking around for information, it was right were I expected it to be. The colored resume stood out, but it wasn't professional like the other ones.

Resume fix
After reading Skeptical Resume Reader Tells How He Thinks, I thought I probably should revise my resume a bit. I really don't have anything in it yet that will survive the scan, such as an attention getter. It seems I need to revise my objective. My current objective is long and detailed and probably should be short and to the point. I have the correct format as the writer describes. I am a little confused by the writer because he says not to overdo your verbs, but then he says don't use wimpy verbs. I guess I have to find
Pitch reaction
I didn't realize how uncomfortable I looked standing up in front of class. In the beginning of the pitch I saw I was playing with my hands a little at my side, which I had no idea I was doing during the pitch. I was at a loss for words at some points, which didn't happen during my practice pitches. I didn't realize I wasn't talking very loud. I'm not sure if this was from the camcorder microphone, or if I just wasn't speaking clear enough. I think my speech was effective. It got my point across and it didn't seem to leave pe
Why I voted
I chose the home networking setup idea because I can relate to it. I am majoring in Computer and Information Technology. If I was applying for a job there I would fit the criteria. The presenter persuaded me because he mentioned there isn't much competition in the market. The idea was fairly new an inventive and it was clearly presented. I wasn't left with any questions at the end.
Take the power away
I chose to present my online dating website proposal according to the six steps in the Resources for pitches link. The steps were to explain your product or service, market, revenue model, backers, competition, and competitive advantage. I organized it in those steps. I provided examples of similar services that have been successful in the past. I provided numbers on how big the job market was (16 million college students). I explained how we would make a profit from advertising on the website and by having a monthly fee. I explained that
