3 Rules of Thumb
In reviewing the business plans the ones we found had a few of the rules Luntz describes but the rules that stick out in my mind are ones that should be included in a business plan for our industry. The rules that were most important to me were Rules 1(simplicity), 7 (speak aspirationally), and 8 (visualize).
Ethics and Visual Rhetoric
In the reading, "Ehtics & Visual Rhetoric," there are three examples given of times when ehtically a report was done wrong. It is neccessary to take into consideration when compiling any type of article, report, or thesis to think about who is going to read it and how it will be read. This is important because different people view different things in different ways. An example I liked in the reading was the use of charts. Personally I do not like pie charts, it is just a personal thing. I think it is unclear in reading and can look sloppy.

These two job ads depict the image of three different jobs. Both tell a brief description of what the requirements are, the responsibilities, and brief background. There is information regarding the company and a link to visit the company webpage to gain an in depth look at the company itself.
VOTE?
There were many interesting ideas presented in class. Some ideas I had heard before and some I hadn't. When it came down to it the reasons I voted for the ideas I did was due in large part to the idea itself. I asked myself: Is this a creative idea? Is this a feasible idea? Is this something I can see working? If I saw those things the idea caught my attention. I also looked to see if the presenter was excited about thier idea. Together if the idea and pitcher gave a great presentation I selected them as a finalist.

I've Always Wanted To
Ever since I was little all I have ever wanted was to be a chef. As I grew culinary school was just way to out reach for me. I wouldn't be able to attend school out of state. My mother had catered several events with a friend and I went along with them when they were shopping and preparing for the parties. I helped decorate, plan, and organize. I fell in love with the process and the idea of catering. I became upsessed with the idea of a catering company. In 4-H I participated in the food and flower projetcs. Learning how to properly cook certain items and arrange flowers.

Why Is It Important?
A primary challenge for an entrepreneur is describing their ideas in great detail while presenting them in a way that sounds exciting and engaging. When creating a business, the first thing an entrepreneur should do is to write a business plan. In this document, the entrprenuer has to explain his or her idea clearly to the reader while engaging their interests in order to persuade them to invest. If an entrepreneur can not write a professional, persuasive business plan, they will have a difficult time creating a successful business.
