Nancy Allen feels very passionately about the ethical violations of misleading visual effects and graphics. The article brings up the biases engendered by selection, emphasis, and framing, as well as the effects of modifying and touching up pictures, and complicated and misleading graphs showing false correlations. Although I do not feel as vehemently about visual trickery as Allen does, I do feel that ethics are always important to consider.

When voting for the best pitches, I mainly focused on how good I thought the idea was, and whether or not I thought the presenter would make a good project manager. I based the latter on how organized and understandable their pitch was overall, and whether or not the person seemed sufficiently passionate about the idea. Also, the more evident actual data from research was, the more impressed and persuaded I was.

Persuasive writing plays an critical role in entreprenuership. In fact, funding is directly affected by one's persuasive ability (whether written or verbal) in two major ways-

1. If your business scope/pitch/plan or any document of the sort is lacking persuasive content, you will lose out on funding from investors.

and

2. If you can't write or act persuasively, you're going to have to pay someone to do it for you.
