The role of writing and persuasion is very important for an entrepreneur. By being an entrepreneur, you have to start something on your own. It takes whatever you think and say to make your business successful. Rhetoric helps you describe your business effectively and to make it appealing to potential customers and investors. It involves the ideas of invention and discovery, persuasion, speaking choices, and delivery. All of these ideas are important in starting a business. For example, let's say I want to start my own business. The first thing I would need to do is come up with an idea that I believe would be successful. Next, I would need to use persuasion to come up with funding for business, as well as the help I would need to begin one. After the business is constructed I have to persuade customers to come into my store and to buy from me instead of some other competitor. I would do this through the last two parts of rhetoric. The way you say something has a big effect on bringing customers to the store and having them buy something. You wouldn't tell someone they are buying a terrible product would you? If you did, then there is a good chance that customer would not buy that product. You also have to make sure you use correct wording so that you do not speak over their head. Delivery is important too. You have to make sure that you have the customer's attention and can keep it. You can do this through your voice, gestures, and eye contact. The role of writing and how you do things makes a big difference on whether or not you are successful.
I never planned on becoming an entrepreneur, because I do not think I could come up with a successful idea. However, I want to understand all aspects of the business, which an entrepreneur has to do. I want to learn how to be an effective communicator selling a product or at whatever area of business I am involved in.
