Role of Writing and Persuasion

      I believe that being able to communicate and express yourself clearly is one of the cornerstones of successful business. Good communication is a must when dealing with any part of your business; from shareholders to employees. Excellent personal writing and communication skills are even more important as an entrepreneur, because you often are the face of your small business. If your writing and speaking is not polished and professional it will definately have a negative impact on your company.

     In this class I want to improve my writing ability and develop writing skills for the business world. I have not had to do any writing before in a business context, I believe this will be both a challenging and  important skill to learn.

I really like the comment you made regarding being the face of your own business. I think that is so true and I have had experiences in which I know of aspiring entrepreneurs who think that they can have an idea and everyone else will do the work when that is just not the case. As you stated, “if your writing and speaking is not polished/professional, it will have a negative impact.” I really agree because as an entrepreneur in the primal state, you are wholly representing your company or product and though it sounds so cliché to say, appearances and first impressions really can be everything, and that first impression may come in a business plan, persuasive letter, etc.
