As an entrepreneur, writing and persuasion play a great role in the work environment. Being able to easily and effectively express yourself verbally or on paper can give you a great edge over your competition. Entrepreneurs often have only one shot at a business opportunity and need to be able to capitalize in order to succeed. Writing will show up every day in reports, emails and other documents. Mistakes and shortcomings in these works can cost workers huge opportunities. Persuasion also impacts entrepreneurs in settings like interviews, elevator pitches and project meetings. I hope to be able to refine my skill set in this class in order to be able to effectively put ideas onto paper and successfully express them verbally.

I agree that writing is an important component in an individuals personal life and career. Also, being skilled in writing and persuasion will provide an edge over competition.
You are absolutely right about mistakes and shortcomings having the ability to come at the cost of a lost opportunity. Attention to detail goes a long way in showing the reader or listener that you care about even the little things. Typos and grammatical errors send a negative message about a person's degree of professionalism. Often times, in this field you really do only have one chance to make a strong first impression.
