What is the role of writing and persuasion for an entrepreneur? How does that relate to what you hope to get from the course?
In my opinion, the role of writing and persuasion for an entrepreneur is a key aspect in starting a company, non-profit organization, or any other form of business. First, being able to write professionally and efficiently is a definite must-have in this field. With poor communication skills it is tough to contact possible investors, employees, and other companies with ideas and possible business proposals due to the weak mechanics of an individual's writing skills. The better an entrepreneur is at writing, the better off they will be in the business world. No matter how great someone is at writing, the better they can be at it can definitely undermine the success of their organization. Secondly, the more persuasive a person is with their writing, more people will be interested in the company. Having a great idea for a company is only part of the battle as an entrepreneur, you must be able to convince others to "jump on-board." So really, the more convincing you are, the more support you will get in your entrepreneurship endeavors.
If you haven't noticed, my writing skills aren't fantastic, so in this course I really hope to improve my writing so I do sound much more professional on paper than I do now. I personally feel that my writing is a poor example of my professionalism and I do not want to be judged poorly because of how I appear on paper. So the more practice and learning I can do in the writing field will ultimately make me much more well-rounded as an entrepreneur!
