That crazy pirate

Building that pirate ship was a great analogy towards writing in a group environment. I think that as well as demonstrating many of the principals of; seeing the big picture first before you iron out the details, of how to effectively break off the work so that maximum efficiency is achieved. It was also a great team building exercise I think it got everyone in the class talking and working together to discuss how to get this task accomplished. It showed how some people stand up and start delegating and others listen to delegations and participate and help in their own way. I think this shows the way most people perform in a group and it was also a good lesson in how to effectively accomplish the big picture when working as a "wheel" to the greater good or the whole "car".  When working to build this pirate ship the first parts that were most effective were the pictures that described the assembly of multiple parts of the ship, and from these pictures we were able to incorporate the individual steps from each part of the isntallation, this fits well with working together on writing... first you need to get a general idea and everyone needs to know what the big picture and what you are trying to explain, then when that is understood and is properly done you can begin ironing out the details. All in all it was a fun and interesting assignment for the day that could definitely help people organize better for team projects....
