English 421: Technical Writing

Each week you will have several responsibilities and while some will be mentioned on the weekly calendar, not all of them will be.  I am enumerating them hear to clarify any uncertainties that you may have regarding your duties in this class.

1. Each week you will have a reading response due.  Your reading response should be about 300 words.
2. Each week you will be expected to post five comments to other students' blog entries. These comments should be approximately 100 words.  For the purposes of commenting, a week is considered Sunday night to the following Sunday.  For example, in week two comments that count for that week will start on August 31st and end on Sunday September 7th.  You should have five comments during that seven day period.
3. Each week you will be responsible for procuring, posting, and summarizing an article related to technical writing and/or the project that we are currently working on.  Your article should be available to your classmates either by hyperlink or as a pdf that you attach to your blog entry.  Your blog entry should contain at least a two paragraph summary/critique of the article in which you relate it to our class.  Students will be chosen randomly to present their article.  This work cannot be made up.
