English 421: Technical Writing

We continued working on our white paper project. After getting back our draft, we discussed several things we could do to improve the paper. We still needed to add an executive summary and table to contents. The group also discussed various things to make the paper better from a visual standpoint. We also started doing some things for the documentation project. We split up the work to provide step-by-step directions for doing various things on Sosius that may be helpful to our created persona, Habib Abdullah, because those douchebags from Drive-Thru Marketing did not want us.

For this week, our group did not do very much with regard to our project.  We collaborated a little about the usability project, but we are planning to work on it in class tuesday. 

This last week I helped my group create the usability instructions.  Which turned out rather difficult because the answers we recieved from the "Pimp my dorm" group were not helpful in determining the program that would suite their needs best.  It basically ended up that we chose to do office zilla for the usability instructions.  The instructions are general and describe applications that an average person might want to use.  Unfortunately, we didn't get very far with it when class ended on Thursday.  It took us most of the class period to determine what

This week in class our group got the rough draft back for out white paper.  We went over it together and decided on several things that need to be corrected.  We came to the conclusion that we should each work on our individual sections on our own time and post them to the website.  We were also going to start making our usability document, however our questions did not get returned.  Hopefully we can work on it Tuesday.

This week was a relatively slow week for the white paper project as we were waiting for the return of our rough draft.  Today in class we divided up the portion of the executive summary which we will complete by Monday night so that I can combine them for class on Tuesday.  The only revisions not addressed in our meeting or previously were addition of a table of contents and correction of grammatical errors.

We recieved our white paper rough drafts back today.  The group got together and discussed the things that needed to be fixed and revised and plan to do that on our own time when time is available.  Once all of us have revised our sections that need to be revised then we will post to the site and our organizer will put all of it together and make it look nice.  Also today we are to begin our documentation on our usability projects.  Due to me not posting the questions on the website some complications arose and we do not have the responses to our questions.  But no

During this class period, we created a couple personas for potential people that we would have to explain our product to.  We ended up deciding on a project manager, who would be in charge of a few drivers of the busses, and the supervisor, who would be in charge of basically the whole company.  Once we got started, the process was relatively easy and we were done quickly.  However, for the first time then we were missing a group member.  Kevin wasn't in class, so we had to work a man down.  This wasn't an issue considering the amount of workload for the day, but it
