week 13
Usability Job Outlook
For this week's article, I found another interest bit of info from the World Usability Day website on the usability job market. This particular career path has been on the rise for the past decade and a half. This is because there are always new types of technology coming out. The website lists two important criteria for those wanting to work in usability: 1) basic knowledge of computers or technology and 2) a desire to make technology easy for human use.
Ease of use
This weeks topic for the articles is usability and documentation. The article I found for this weeks discusses 'ease of use' in documentaton for paper, computer, and multimedia projects. Throughout the paper they discuss the difference in typeset, length, margins, and use depending on what you are documenting. If you are doing documentation on a project that is a multimedia thing, and you are going to be setting this documentation up to be viewed from a computer you would use certain type faces and spacing so it properlly lays on a computer screen.
Microsoft uses stuff
Well here is some of the same old article stuf that has to deal with Microsoft and what they do to research usability of their products.
